Introducing the newest generation in FDA cleared “Interdiscal Spinal Decompression Therapy”.
DTS Triton® Spinal Decpmpression
The DTS Triton® system combines gentle distractive force of the decompression unit with computer programmed and vectored software to achieve the most accurate and yet safe and effective treatment for intervertebral disc herniation, Sciatic pain, Degenerative joint disease, Posterior facet syndrome, Acute cervical and lumbar pain with muscle spam, and other related conditions.
The DTS Triton® is gentle and allows the clinician to access a variety of different programs, fitting the individual need of each patient. The DTS Triton® is effective in either the lumbar or cervical spine mode.
During the session, decompression takes place as programmed based on patient needs determined from available history, physical examination and radiological information.
We also incorporate associated exercises, core strengthening and modification of daily activities based on each patient’s specific needs.

Who may benefit from decompression?
Patients with herniated discs, sciatica, degenerative discs, posterior facet syndrome/Pain are candidates for “Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression”. During the initial patient consultation, each patient is closely screened to determine if they would likely benefit from spinal decompression. They are also screened for any health conditions which would contra indicate the treatment such as pregnancy, severe osteoporosis and/or severe nerve damage. Once evaluated and cleared, a personalized treatment plan will be recommended.
How many treatments are needed?
Everyone’s needs are different. However, the number of sessions typically range from 10-20 that may be subdivided into 3 different stages: Acute, Subacute and Decompression stages depending on the patient’s current condition. Each session takes approximately 20 minutes. Although serious disc and joint conditions often take time to rehabilitate, decompression treatment reduces disc and joint instability by improving the biomechanics of the dynamic structures of the spine in gentle and effective manner.
Research and Studies
Clinical results show decompression therapy have been effective in over 75% of the patients treated and most patients find long-term relief or effective management of their pain when they complete the entire program of treatments and maintain home exercise with periodic visits for maintenance/preventative care.
Spine related pain may come from a variety of sources. Although not all back and neck pain results from intervertebral discs, research suggests that 85% originated form there. A disc may be injured in many ways. When injury and degeneration occurs, the layer of the disc separate and form tears, allowing a herniation or prolapse to occur.
Research, led by Dr. Terry Yochum, DC, DACBR, ACCR revealed: ” Spinal decompression therapy is believed to provide both biochemical and biomechanical directions to the disc. The affects of axial spinal decompression therapy could be objectively quantified through pre-therapy and post-therapy MRI”.
Another research project showed that: “86% of the 219 patients who completed the therapy, reported immediate resolution of symptoms, while 84% remained pain-free 90 days post-treatment. Physical examination findings showed improvement in 92% of the 219 patients 90 days after the treatment”. Spinal surgery and disc disease costs the American health system more than $50 billion annually and a single surgery can cost upwards of $80,000. Clearly, Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression is a revolutionary alternative to risk surgery with a remarkable cost effectiveness.
